Positano Inspired Italian Market Wedding at Private Cottage in Muskoka
When I say this wedding was made for a magazine, I mean it. This Positano Italian Inspired wedding was published in Today’s Bride Summer Edition!
A private cottage in the Muskokas with an Amalfi inspired node at every turn. When bride Laura describes her wedding of “yellowy sunshine of goodness” the day lived up to those expectations!
The guests arrived to the dock side ceremony by the historical M.V. Chippewa III where they waited for the groom to arrive by a Grady-White. The beautiful bride left you breathless as she walked down the entire length of the cottage deck and dock in her stunning fitted gown adorned with delicate 3D petal lace by Made with Love Bridal (Louie). With their European styled sun umbrellas, guests watched on without a dry eye.
After the I do’s were official guests were whisked away on a boat tour so the bride and groom could take family photos without missing out on the cocktail hour with their guests. Apres boat tour, guests are welcomed ashore with a spiked lemonade stand on the way to the upper terrace which overlooks Blind Bay. There they enjoyed a live band, speciality drinks, a lemonade stand and a fabulous oyster bar! The bride and groom happily mingled with their guests and enjoyed some oysters and then quickly headed to their favourite look out point for a quiet moment as new husband and wife. When they returned, they headed back to a cleared ceremony space on the water dock and had their first dance as their guests overlooked from the upper levels.
As guests made their way to the reception at the front of the cottage in the grande tent, they began to step outside of the Mukokas and step into Italy. They were greeted with an oversized seating chart in the form of a lemon tree where each branch represented a table and each lemon hosted the name that was to be seated there. As soon as you stepped foot into the tent you were immediately transported to Italy in mind body and soul. The tuscan scene was nothing short of magnificent. Lemons everywhere you looked; rows and rows of tall lemon trees, luscious cascading lemon trellis' throughout, foot after foot of lemon garlands and tablescapes adorned with bowls of lemons and greeny. The left wing was designed as an Italian Market with themed stations all in Italian design. The heart of the tent was where the guests rested and had the most beautiful decor. The far wing was a tuscan inspired bar. These details continued all throughout where you could find romantically spilled garlic and tomato baskets, custom monogrammed napkins, luxurious menus and european inspired seating.
As guests enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious food, the place was always full of love and laughter. The couple was celebrated by each and every person in that room and seldom was there a dry eye as friends and family members shared stories of the bride and groom. As you can see by the HUGE smiles on the groom’s mom’s face and the bride’s dad’s face, both parent dances were extra special! Bride Laura and her dad even busted out a special dance.
After dinner, everyone headed back to the main deck for drinks, dancing and a special surprise Bakery!
This wedding was glamourous no doubt, but what I need to mention is that the hearts of the Bride and Groom were even bigger. Every little sweet detail that lay amidst the bigger details had their guests in mind. They wanted to provide an experience for their guests but also show their love and gratitude toward them. Special boat tours to share in their favourite place, petite monogrammed flags to keep them cool during the ceremony, a best friend officiating, including details of loved ones in their ceremony speeches and reception speeches and even thoughtful gifts and handwritten cards to vendors (correction, new friends (me!)). The bakery was even set up as a surprise to the bride’s mother in law and grandmother which housed their recipes.
My detail oriented heart wants a lifetime more of weddings curated like this with couples that have just as big of hearts as this bride and groom!
